IF I WANT TO CHANGE SIZES LATER ON, DO I NEED A NEW KIT?
Absolutely NOT. All parts are interchangeable between all sizes and all kits. This means that it doesn’t matter which system you choose, you can always change inserts from Pro to Race to Eliminator without purchasing anything additional. Also, if you buy a Medium today, you can change to Large, Small, or Half-Waffle by purchasing Sleeves or a Rebuild Kit. You do not need to purchase new kits to change sizes, inserts, clamps, etc. Furthermore, every single part is available separate from the kit so you can replace parts as they wear out instead of purchasing a new set.
WILL THESE FIT MY HANDLEBAR?
All of our grip sizes fit standard 22.3mm (.875) diameter handlebars which are on MOST bicycles in existence. Moreover, all parts are the exact same for all grip sizes except the grip sleeve (the part you grab with your hand) so it doesn’t matter what handlebar or bicycle you have, our grips will fit just like any other grip. RevGrips are NOT compatible with the WTB PadLoc® handlebars.
WHAT SIZE GRIP SHOULD I BUY?
In our experience, there isn't an exact measurement that we can give you to help decide which size to get. We always suggest starting with a size that's closest to your current grip of choice and go from there. It really comes down to personal preference and riding style. Check out our Sizing/Tuning Page to help guide you in the right direction.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE RACE AND PRO SERIES?
The Pro Series includes lightened clamps with color options, grips with color choice, hex wrenches, and the tuning washer set.
The Race Series has Standard Clamps that haven't been lightened and there aren't any hex wrenches or color options (black only).
Basically, the Race Series is a Bare Bones version of our Shock Absorbing Grip System at a more affordable price. All parts are upgrade-able and interchangeable between Race and Pro Series so you can add colored grips, lightened clamps, or adjustable feel at any time.
In addition to Worldwide Shipping from here at RevGrips.com, we have an ever-growing dealer network. These shops should have RevGrips in stock and available for immediate purchase. WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF A SHOCK ABSORBING GRIP?
RevGrips are the only grips in the world that DO NOT contact your handlebar, effectively isolating your hands away from shock and vibration. This provides many advantages. First of all, your hands WILL feel better. You will have less hand and arm fatigue, less arm pump, and even less low back pain. You will maintain better focus because of the reduced vibration transferred into your upper body. You will be able to ride harder, longer, faster, and more often without paying such a high price with numb, battered, and blistered hands. Think it’s a gimmick? Don’t believe it? Still skeptical? We offer a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee (details below).
$60-$90 FOR A GRIP! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Just like any other Suspension Component, the initial investment will cost more up front. Since our grips are completely rebuildable (just like your shock or fork), once you have a set, its just maintenance after that. You can replace any item individually or purchase our Rebuild Kit which includes every single wear item (any size and color) for $34.95. Click for Replacement Parts
WHY WOULD I WANT MY GRIPS TO MOVE?
Firstly, the "grip movement" is very subtle and you will not notice it while riding. Secondly, your hands are already moving on traditional grips. Our system allows your grips to move WITH your hands (that are already sliding around on fixed grips, which is why you get blisters, calluses, etc.). For the same reasons you want your front fork and rear shock to move, you'll want your grip to move with you as well. It's the same reason you run less air pressure in your tires when you can. RevGrips move in a very subtle and controlled way with the natural motion of your hands. Because our grips are adjustable, you can tune the movement (and performance) to your unique riding style. Think of RevGrips as an adjustable suspension component.
HOW DIFFERENT DO THEY FEEL COMPARED TO REGULAR GRIPS?
At first, in the parking lot, you will probably notice the movement of the grip. Its new and different technology, you should notice it. Once you hit the trail, RevGrips will feel much like a traditional grip except for the increased comfort and control. What you will notice is that at the end of the ride, your hands feel better. You're also likely to notice your upper body isn't as beat up as usual and your hands didn't fall asleep and go numb. If you STRAVA, you'll probably notice that you just went faster!
WHY SHOCK ABSORBING GRIPS?
Whether you are trail riding or barreling down your favorite down-hill line, most of us suffer from hand fatigue, numbing, and/or arm pump. There are many products on the market designed to “damp vibration” and most of us utilize at least one of them.
As bicycle enthusiasts that merely wanted to extend our rides, we tried pretty much every product on the market, but nothing solved the problem and adequately improved our ride quality. Most riders will agree that the most crucial component for comfort is the grip. There are many different grip shapes and sizes designed in an effort to achieve that perfect, ergonomic fit with hopes of minimizing arm pump and hand fatigue. Unfortunately, every grip has the same problem: they are directly mounted to your handlebar and most with locking rings serving the sole purpose of eliminating ANY movement. RevGrips is the only company to ever produce a shock absorber for the most significant and direct point of contact with your bike: your hands.
We designed an extremely comfortable, shock-absorbing, fatigue reducing, dynamic grip. It's very easily adjustable with replaceable parts, and it absolutely makes a noticeable difference. It's as easy to install as traditional grips and we offer similar sizing as well. It's truly a zero-compromise solution that looks great and is light weight. Our original goal was to solve a problem, but what we hadn’t planned on was the increased speed and confidence these grips give you. Across the board, our riders feel significantly less hand fatigue and arm pump while gaining control and speed.
HOW DO THEY WORK?
See our page "How RevGrips Work"
HOW DO I ADJUST THEM?
The grips are adjusted with "Tuning Washers" which are include in the Pro Series and optional on the Race Series. The Pro Series kit includes 8 washers of 2 different thicknesses (installed 1 on each side of the grip). The washers space the Grip Assembly away from the "Suspension Ring" and allow for more or less movement. Thicker washers = more movement, zero washers = minimal movement. If you are skeptical about "Grip Movement" skip the washers at first. See "Sizing/Tuning" for additional information.
WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE?
We currently offer our grip in FIVE different diameters: small and half-waffle are 31mm, medium is 32.5mm, large is 34mm, and RG5 fits in between Medium and Large with a more ergonomic design. These are APPROXIMATE dimensions as standard tolerances apply. Our small diameter is similar to most of the popular brands on the market. The length of both Grip Assemblies are 130mm which is, for the most part, industry standard.
WHY ARE REVGRIPS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN TRADITIONAL GRIPS?
You are looking at a shock absorber for your hands, not a simple hand grip. The extra pieces and proprietary, patented technology is all manufactured in the USA and frankly, it's not cheap to do so. Quality pedals, seats, shoes, stems, bars, etc. cost well over $100, and we all consider that money well spent. Finish off your 3rd and arguably most important point of contact with our Shock Absorbing Grips, and it will make a tangible improvement in your riding experience.
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE?
We are so confident that you will be happy with RevGrips, we’re willing to back it up with a 30-day, money back guarantee. Give them a shot, try different settings, and put some miles on them. Try them back to back with standard, fixed grips. You will really appreciate the improvement. If you don’t feel they are worth the extra cost, contact us first so we have an opportunity to help out since you've most likely got the wrong size. If we can't get you dialed in, send them back in their original package, in “non-damaged” condition, and we will refund the full purchase price of the system (excluding shipping costs). Non-damaged means no scratches or damage on any of the clamps, bar ends, or sleeves. We understand sleeves will be used but if you run your handlebars into multiple rocks while shredding Whistler, please don't expect a refund. We do not issue partial refunds. Our Money-Back guarantee is only valid for grips that are purchased at revgrips.com. If you purchase RevGrips through a dealer, check their return policy as they may not accept returns on used merchandise. We can not refund money from an order we did not receive directly. Guarantee is for our Grip System ONLY and does NOT apply to any other product.
WILL THE GRIP MOVEMENT MAKE ME LOSE MORE CONTROL OF MY RIDE?
Precisely the opposite! Our grips have won countless races (DH, XC and Enduro). Riders were able to maintain more focus because they weren't distracted by hand fatigue and numbing. One could argue that the single most important point of contact is your hands. Front forks move, rear shocks move, seat posts move, and tires deflect. These components all work together to increase control, performance, and overall riding comfort. Add to that a dynamic, Shock Absorbing Grip, and it makes a lot of sense. Moreover, you do not have to "death grip" your handlebars because they will not transfer all of the shock and vibration to your hands. You will be able to maintain more speed and focus than with a traditional, fixed hand grip.
ARE THEY EASY TO INSTALL?
They are just about as easy to install as any other grip on the market. It shouldn't take any more than a couple of minutes to take off your old grips and replace them with this ground-breaking product. There are a total of 6 screws for the entire system that need to be fastened on your bike before you go and ride (2 bar-end screws and 4 clamp screws). The SLI system uses only 4 total screws.
WHERE ARE THEY MADE?
Our products are proudly made in the USA. We own a manufacturing facility (see About Us), and we want to be able to control the quality and production of as many aspects of this product as possible. Clamps and all other metal parts are made in house. Plastics, rubber, boxes, etc. are produced at local factories right here in Southern California.
WHAT ABOUT MOTORCYCLES? QUADS? JET-SKIS?
We have done extensive testing on motorcycles, quads and Jet-Skis with fantastic results. If you have a quad with a thumb throttle, and your handlebar does not have knurls on the left hand side, our Grip System is a direct bolt on. If you do have handlebars with knurls on the left side, you can either sand them down to accept our standard locking rings, or you can gently pry the clamp open when sliding over the knurls. Either way, they will work on a quad with a thumb throttle. We are currently in the beginning stages of production with our motorcycle Grip System, and it will be a direct replacement for motorcycles and quads utilizing twist throttles. Stay tuned.
CAN I TRY THEM OUT BEFORE COMMITTING TO PURCHASE?
Because we offer a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee, you can view it as a 30-Day demo. You just have to pay up front for a brand new set. If you choose to return them (in non-damaged condition) you will receive a full refund (except shipping costs). It's already been proven that once you try them, you won't want to take them off.
