SLI GRIP SYSTEM (HANDLEBAR INCLUDED)

The idea for our SLI Grip System was driven by riders looking for a “single lock-on grip.”  Although that's a fine idea for an ordinary lock-on grip, it presents a bit of a challenge with a “floating grip” like ours.  To produce a Suspended Grip that checks all the boxes, it has to be suspended (and secured) at both ends.  Enter the SLI Grip System, recently updated with more handlebar options (we've been selling the IBIS variant for many years).

To achieve that "single-lock" goal, we integrated the outer clamp into our Aluminum Bar End Cap and that threads INTO a Custom Handlebar instead of clamping around it. 

This creates an Ultra-Thin Outer Cap for that Single-Lock look and feel, while providing the ultimate in performance with our Suspension Grip System.  

If you’re the rider looking for every millimeter of Handlebar real estate and like to place your hands out at the end of the bar, this is the RevGrips option for you.  

An additional benefit is that the SLI grip end will not rip off in a crash like a traditional Single Lock Grip. The SLI is a much more durable design than an ordinary single-lock grip and still has the added safety benefit of DUAL lock grips.

This is not a replacement for our Pro or Race Series Grip System, it's simply an alternative.  This setup requires a specific handlebar, so if you're not looking for a handlebar upgrade, any of our other grip systems will work great for you.  Race/ Pro Series fit ANY handlebar and SLI uses a Custom Bar with integrated Handlebar End.  Race, Pro, and SLI shown below for a close-up comparison.

Handlebar Options:

The IBIS Carbon handlebar incorporates threaded aluminum inserts at each end.  We made SLI specific handlebar extensions at 780mm wide that thread into the IBIS handlebar. Link to Blackbird 35 bar.

We've got the Ibis 31.8 Handlebar Option while supplies last.  This handlebar has been discontinued.

The 5Dev Aluminum Handlebar has a 35mm clamp diameter and a 30mm rise.  We cut the bar to 780mm wide and bond our proprietary SLI insert inside. Link to bar

Grip Options:  Black Grip Sleeves are included in this System.  If you'd like a different GRIP color, check out the color options in Pro Series Standard and Pro Series Ergonomic Grip Sets.  Let us know in the NOTES section of your order if you'd like a different Grip Sleeve color.  Clamp Color options are the ones listed at the top of this page.  Not all Pro Series Clamp Colors are currently available in the SLI Kit.
