If you've already got an Ibis Hi-Fi or Lo-Fi Handlebar (with the blue threaded ends) and want the cleanest RevGrips system we offer, you're in the right place. If you’re the rider looking for every millimeter of Handlebar real estate and like to place your hands out at the end of the bar, this is the RevGrips option for you.
This design was driven by customers looking for a “single lock-on grip.” Although that's a fine idea for your run of the mill lock-on grip, it presents a multitude of performance (as well as safety) issues with a “floating grip” like ours. To produce a “Suspension Grip” that checks all the boxes it needs, it has to be suspended (and secured) at both ends. We took all of this into consideration and developed the SLI Grip System.
Currently, we utilize the IBIS HiFi handlebar, which is a premium Carbon Bar that incorporates threaded aluminum inserts at each end. We made SLI specific handlebar extensions at 780mm wide (800mm upon request) that thread into the IBIS handlebar. We will have other handlebar options in the future, but you do need an SLI specific handlebar.
For us to achieve that "single-lock" goal, we integrated the outer clamp into our Aluminum Bar End which threads securely INTO the handlebar instead of clamping around it. This creates an Ultra-Thin bar end cap for that Single-Lock feel, but you have the ultimate in performance with our Suspension Grip.
Additionally, a huge added benefit is that the SLI grip end will not rip off in a crash like a traditional Single Lock Grip. The SLI is a much more durable design than a traditional single-lock grip and still has the added safety benefit of DUAL lock grips.
Is this a replacement for our Pro Series System? Certainly NOT, but we all like options. Is it expensive? Well, sure, if you've already got a handlebar you like. Price breakdown is $170.00 for the Carbon Handlebar and $79.95 for the SLI System (discounted for bundling with the handlebar).
Our SLI (Single-Lock-Integrated) system is ONLY compatible with the IBIS Hi-Fi or Lo-Fi Carbon Handlebar. The Handlebar is NOT included in this price.
